Graphic Novel Open House

Explore the Library’s New Graphic Novel Collection!

  • February 13, 2018, 1-3 p.m.
  • Kathryn A. Martin first floor

Drop by the library’s first floor lobby area to learn more about our new graphic novel collection! This free and informal event will include:

  • Comics and graphic novel themed button-making
  • Reading recommendations
  • Hot chocolate and popcorn

The library’s new graphic novel collection was created in November 2017, relocating our existing comics and graphic novels to the first floor reading room in order to facilitate easy browsing. The collection includes over 250 titles and features much more than just superheroes, including memoirs, non-fiction, and fiction from a variety of personal and cultural perspectives. Graphic novels can be checked out for four weeks at a time.

This event is part of the Reading Without Walls program, which is designed to create a community of readers at UMD and in Duluth and encourage participants to encounter, discuss, and share diverse ideas, characters, genres, and perspectives through reading.
