Stressless Week in the Library

Dec 1, 2021

With the final days of the semester approaching fast, you may be experiencing feelings of anxiety, stress, and frustration.

The Kathryn A. Martin Library and partners have prepared activities, events, and resources to help our UMD Bulldogs be successful in their studies!

Activities available all day throughout the week

Coloring Table

Available on the first floor of the library.  Grab a coloring sheet or doodle on the table.

Cute Animal Videos

We'll have fun animal videos or critter live streams playing on the first floor by the coloring table.

Puzzles are also a great way to destress. Stop by the library on the first and/or third floor and spend a few minutes putting the pieces together.

Prizes throughout the week!

We will hold daily drawings throughout the week for some pretty great prizes, all you need to do is enter your name/email into our little ballot box.

Post-it Positivity Board

Share a positive or encouraging message with others on our post-it board located on the first floor.

Make your own buttons on the first floor of the library on Tuesday, December 7 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.!  Table will be located on the first floor under the Chihuly.

We're bringing PAWS (Pet Away Worry & Stress) back to the library on December 8 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.! Thanks to a partnership with folks from the Kirby  Student Center you'll be able to hang out with some pretty pawsome 4 legged friends.

Evening Yoga

Come and wind down, relax, stretch, and find your center with UMD's very own Bulldog Yoga Club on Wednesday, December 8 at 6:00 p.m. in the L260 (formerly the Media Hub).  Bring your own yoga mat! Mats are available for renting/borrowing from RSOP.

Stress Ball Make & Take

Come by our table outside the library gates on Wednesday, December 8 from 2:00p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and make yourself a stress ball, or grab one of the pre-made stress balls made by our staff!

*Just a note for anyone who may have food sensitivities or allergies:  this activity does require the use of flour.

Late Night Library

The Student Association is back with Late Night Library again.  They will be handing out snacks outside the library in the concourse on Wednesday, December 8 and Thursday, December 9 at 7:00 p.m.

If you have questions about Stressless Week activities, have suggestions for future Stressless weeks, or would like to partner with us, please email the library's Communication & Events Committee at [email protected].
