The Kathryn A. Martin Library has prepared activities and events throughout the week to help our UMD Bulldogs de-stress and be successful in their studies!
Activities available all day throughout the week
Available on the first floor of the library. Grab a coloring sheet or doodle on the table.
Write a Thank You
Available on the first floor of the library. Stop by and write a thank you to a professor or other staff on campus and no need to worry about sending it out, as we'll take care of that for you! Everything will be provided!
Available on the first floor of the library. Stop by and test your paper folding skills with some origami.
Puzzles are also a great way to destress. Stop by the library on the first and/or third floor and spend a few minutes putting the pieces together.
Prizes throughout the week!
We will hold daily drawings throughout the week for some pretty great prizes, all you need to do is enter your name/email into our little ballot box.
Post-it Positivity Board
Share a positive or encouraging message with others on our post-it board located on the first floor.
Monday (April 25)
Digital Free Thinking | 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. | Library 4th Floor Rotunda
Step away from your computer, phone, and tablet and join us for some quiet time in the Library’s 4th Floor Rotunda. Study, meditate, color, write, read, journal, think. We’ll have a selection of books from our collections, coloring supplies, a journal prompt/journals and we will provide snacks.

Yoga with Jean | 5:00 p.m. | KAML 116
Join Jean Baribeau-Thoennes from Health Services for this gentle, calming, and mindful yoga practice. Whether you've never tried yoga or are an advanced practitioner, all experience levels are welcome! If you have a mat/blanket, please bring one.

Mindful Mornings | 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. | KAML 116
Join Professor Viann Nguyen-Feng and graduate student, Kelsey Dietrich, for a body scan, seated mindful movement, and silent meditation/closing. Mindful Mornings are an opportunity for people to pause and consciously take a break from their everyday stresses with guided meditation and gentle movement. This event is for anyone regardless of skill level.

Knit with a Librarian with Bekky! | 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. | Library 2nd Floor
Join one of our Librarians, Bekky, for a casual knitting session. This drop-in style event means you can drop in any time. Don't know how to knit? Bekky can teach you! For the avid knitters out there, feel free to bring whatever you might be working on!

Button Making | 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. | Library First Floor
Make your own buttons on the first floor of the library on Wednesday, April 27 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.! Table will be located on the first floor under the Chihuly hanging sculpture.
