Visit the Great Lakes Aquarium, on us!

If you’ve ever wanted to visit the Great Lakes Aquarium, consider this your sign!  UMD users can now check out passes for the Aquarium from the library.

Aquarium passes can be acquired by visiting the Library Services Desk on the first floor of the library during our regular business hours. Anyone with a UCard or a community member card can check out passes! You'll be given a blue Great Lakes Aquarium paper slip, but you'll also need your digital loan receipt (the one you receive in your email) to get in. We can print off a physical receipt if requested.

The pass is valid for seven days, and you can take up to five people total, as many times as you’d like in that time frame. Once you are done, we ask that you recycle your pass - it doesn’t need to be returned to us.

Please note: Passes are not renewable, not reservable, and only one can be checked out at a time.  Please note that parking is not included in the pass. Parking information can be found on the Aquarium’s website

The Great Lakes Aquarium is located at 353 Harbor Drive, appropriately on the waterfront between Bayfront Park and the DECC.  The organization offers “animal encounters, engaging displays:"  watch the otters play, learn about fish in the Great Lakes, or take a trip (without having to travel) to the Amazon or the ocean!

You can learn more about current exhibits by visiting the Aquarium's website
