About Library Course Materials
Library Course Materials (also known as course reserves) is a service to help instructors provide student access to materials for their courses. Physical books, ebooks, articles, book chapters, videos and more can all be added to your reading list in Library Course Materials.

Course Works and Library Course Materials
Course Works includes library materials. The library collaborates with the bookstore to provide access to required course ebooks when possible to help reduce the cost of textbooks. If a library license for an unlimited-user ebook is available, we will automatically purchase and add the item to our collection for students to use.
A Library Course Materials page will appear on your Course Works shelf for all courses with active library items.
Visit the Course Works page for more information regarding the program.
Our service isn’t changing. Instructors, please see Library Course Materials For Faculty to place requests, manage your reading lists, and receive support.
Copyright Information
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law. See UMD's Copyright Information and University of Minnesota Libraries Copyright Information & Resources.
