Library Database Updates

An update regarding the library's databases.

Financial constraints and budget reallocations forced the library to make difficult decisions for the 2025-2026 academic year.

In response to budgetary pressure at the beginning of the year, the library eliminated several databases including resources considered crucial to campus researchers. In the ensuing months, library staff have worked hard to make additional savings in our operations, including the implementation of a hiring freeze. Funds accrued through library staff attrition are being redirected to collections.

The following databases will be resubscribed and/or retained:

  • APA PsychInfo
  • Project Muse (Basic Research package)
  • Education Research Complete
  • SPORTDiscus with Full Text
  • MLA

These resources were identified as the highest priorities based on feedback received during consultations with collegiate leadership teams and shared governance groups, and based on the experience of librarians supporting research in fall semester.

If you need assistance with these databases, please contact your liaison librarian. For questions about the library’s budget and impacts on collections and services, please contact Library Director Matt Rosendahl.
