The library provides the following services for UMD distance learners:
- Delivery of materials available from a University of Minnesota campus library
- Delivery of interlibrary loan materials (borrowed from a non-UM library)
- Research assistance
Eligibility

To qualify for the distance learner delivery service, you must:
- Be a currently enrolled UMD student or a current UMD employee
About the Delivery Service
Distance learners are eligible to have library materials shipped to them. The library pays for outgoing shipping; you are responsible for the cost of return shipping. Shipped materials are subject to all library borrowing policies.
Using the Service
Request the material you need through interlibrary loan. Currently, interlibrary loan requests take longer than normal due to delays associated with COVID-19. The length of time varies depending on availability, material type, shipping, and other factors. It is best to request materials well in advance of your deadline.
