The dCommons, UMD’s institutional repository, has merged with the University of Minnesota Twin Cities University Digital Conservancy. This online service and space will permit the Kathryn A. Martin Library to continue its rich legacy of collecting, preserving, and making information accessible to students, faculty, researchers, and community members. The University Digital Conservancy provides free, public access, and long-term preservation of works created at the University.
UMD faculty, staff, and students are now able to retrieve UMD’s materials via the new UMD home page in the UDC . All UDC content is indexed and accessible through a general internet search. UMD affiliates can also now self-upload their own scholarly work to UDC, making UMD research more visible and useful to researchers around the world.
Currently the University Digital Conservancy holds over 59,000 open access articles, university documents, dissertations, data sets, & more.
The University of Minnesota Digital Conservancy (UDC) is:
a venue for faculty to deposit open access copies of their scholarly work,
a showcase for select student works, such as dissertations and honors theses,
home to the Data Repository for the University of Minnesota (DRUM), and
centralized, searchable access to institutional digital records, including those of the University of Minnesota Duluth Archives.
