UMD students can request materials from Martin Library or other participating University of Minnesota libraries with the click of a mouse. Get It! provides system-wide sharing of library materials from all of the larger Twin Cities University Libraries as well as UMD, U of M Crookston, and U of M Morris.
You can select the items you want from the online catalog and manage renewals all from within “My Account.”
Requests from U of M Campuses
When you find a title in the library catalog and click on the Get It! button. We try to obtain a copy of it. If the title is listed in the catalog but not currently available at any University of Minnesota library, we recall a copy from a current borrower. Recalled items not returned by the recall due date (within one week) will be fined $1 per day.
Your item will be retrieved and held at your selected pickup location. You'll be emailed when it is ready for pickup.
Items eligible for Get It! include books, bound periodicals, and music scores—items that circulate for at least one week.
Staff at the Circulation desk can help you search for materials. If we don't find what you need right away, place a Get It! request and we will continue searching for the item.
When to Use Interlibrary Loan
Use interlibrary loan (ILL) to request:
