Practicing Listening - A Listening Project Session

Learn how to become a more mindful and present listener.

The campus community is invited to join us for “Practicing Listening,” a Listening Project session, on Tuesday, October 9, from 6:30 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. in the Library’s 4th floor rotunda. Listening is a gift we give to each other, being present and aware as a listener helps to bring stories into being.  The goal of this workshop is to help you become a more mindful and present listener.

Refreshments will be available after the session.

What is the Listening Project?

Libraries have always had a core function of connecting speakers with listeners through the written word. We see this campus-wide listening initiative as a way to grow connections, build relationships, and increase trust. We invite our community to learn how to listen, learn about listening, practice listening, listen to new stories, and experience the rewards of listening.

You can be involved in bringing listening to life anywhere on campus by participating in events; sponsoring events; making your own event; bringing listening activities into your classroom, unit, or student organization; or contributing your thoughts via social media and other shared platforms.

Questions about this event can be directed to Mags David at 218-726-8585, or by e-mail at [email protected]
